TranslatePro Guide

Learn how to use all the features of our translation tool

    Welcome to TranslatePro

TranslatePro is deliberately simple: choose two languages, type, and read the result. This guide walks through each control in the interface, what the vocabulary and history features do, and where the practical limits are. For questions about accuracy or data handling, see the FAQ.

    Getting Started

    • 1. Pick the source language in the left dropdown and the target language in the right dropdown
    • 2. Type or paste your text into the left panel
    • 3. Wait about half a second — translation runs automatically, there is no translate button
    • 4. Read the result in the right panel, then copy it or play its pronunciation if you need to
    • 5. Optionally save the pair to your vocabulary list with the star button

    Language Selection

    • - Twelve languages are available: English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian, and Hindi
    • - Any pair among them works in either direction
    • - You must choose the source language yourself — automatic detection is not supported
    • - Changing either language re-runs the translation immediately, so you can correct a wrong guess without retyping

    Swapping Direction

    • - The swap button sits between the two language dropdowns
    • - It exchanges the two languages and moves the text across at the same time
    • - Useful for checking a translation by translating it back
    • - The new translation runs automatically after the swap

    Saving Vocabulary

    • - The star button becomes available once a translation has appeared
    • - A dialog lets you choose a category — General, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, CET-4, CET-6, Postgraduate, Business, Travel, or Technology — and add your own notes
    • - Saved items live on the Favorites page, where you can search, filter by category, edit notes, or delete them
    • - Create your own categories from the Favorites page if the built-in ones don't fit
    • - Export the whole list as JSON or CSV to keep a backup
    • - If an entry is already saved, the star turns solid and clicking it removes the entry

    Translation History

    • - The clock button opens the history panel below the translation area
    • - Your 50 most recent translations are kept
    • - Click any entry to load it back into the panels
    • - Clear All empties the history
    • - History lives in your browser's local storage, so it is per-device and disappears if you clear site data

    Copying Results

    • - The copy button above the right panel puts the translation on your clipboard
    • - A confirmation toast appears when the copy succeeds
    • - Source text can be selected and copied manually from the input box

    Pronunciation

    • - Each panel has a speaker button that reads that side aloud
    • - Playback uses the speech voices installed in your browser or operating system, not a server
    • - Voice quality and available languages therefore depend on your device
    • - If nothing plays, your system probably has no voice installed for that language

    Pro Tips

    For Better Translations

    • Translate one sentence or short paragraph at a time
    • Write complete sentences rather than isolated words — context matters
    • Avoid slang, idioms, and heavy abbreviations
    • Swap the languages to translate back as a sanity check

    Things to Keep in Mind

    • Very long input may fail — split it into smaller chunks
    • Export your favorites regularly; clearing browser data deletes them
    • Don't paste passwords or other sensitive data — the text is sent to a third-party API
    • Have important or official translations checked by a human translator
